Nordic Optical Awards 2018

Nordic Optical Awards was founded to recognize extraordinary achievements within the contact lens industry and to further develop and strengthen the contact lens business in the Nordic region.

The three categories are Optician of the Year, Optician Store of the Year and Optician Sales Person of the Year. The nomination is county specific and open for everyone. Please read the nomination criteria before nominating a candidate.

Within each category, the top nominees will be assessed by a jury with representatives from the different Nordic opticians’ associations, Scandinavian Retail Center and CooperVision.

The winners will be presented at the NCLF 2018 gala dinner. In addition to the honor of being awarded, the winners will get an Nordic Optical Awards statuette and a Winner of the year – promotion kit. The nomination closes 31 mars 2018.

Welcome to an evening out of the ordinary! NCLF 2018 is wrapped up with an exclusive gala dinner with selected food and entertainment at Stockholm Waterfront Congress Center.

During the festivities, the winners of Nordic Optical Awards 2017 will be announced and recognized. Make sure not to miss the event of the year!

Nominate

The categories of Optical Awards 2018 are Best Optician, Best Sales Person and Best Store. You can nominate candidates to each category in ten nomination form below. Read more about the nomination criteria for the different categories here.

Optician of the Year

The Optician of the Year is dedicated and focused on providing a comfortable experience for every customer. The person takes great pride in the job and makes sure to always keep up-to-date with the latest research and innovations in order to create a better future for their customers’ eyes.

Nomination criteria Optician of the Year

  • Has at least three years of experience as a practicing optician
  • Continuously embraces new research in applicable fields and incorporates leading-edge findings and innovations in the daily work
  • Is attentive towards the customers and tends to each individual’s unique needs and expectations
  • Has great knowledge when it comes to products, services and news within the contact lens segment

Optician Sales Person of the Year

The Optician Sales Person of the Year is a dedicated sales person that tends to the customers in an enthusiastic and considerate way. The person always pays attention to people’s differences, adjusts accordingly and makes every customer feel important and unique.

Nomination criteria Optician Sales Person of the Year

The Nominee:

  • Has at least one year of experience working with optician sales at the current workplace
  • Has great knowledge of products, services and news within the contact lens segment, actively contributes to its growth and works with additional selling as a natural step of the sales process
  • Is service minded and attentive, and takes pride in paying attention to people’s differences and making every customer feel important
  • Personifies the concept of the current workplace and makes the customers to feel confident with the brand
  • Enjoys working at a high pace, constantly looks for new challenges and is a great ambassador for the current workplace

Optician Store of the Year

The Optician Store of the Year is a store that really stands out from competition when it comes to branding, profitability and service. The customers keep coming back – their unique and individual needs are always attended to in a professional and personal way.

Nomination criteria Optician Store of the Year

The Optician Store:

  • Has been in the business for at least three years and has submitted at least one annual report showing profitability
  • Is an independent store or a branch with maximum 15 local stores. The store may not be part of a national or international branch but may coordinate purchase processes with other actors
  • Is creative and professional, and attentive towards the customers, making them feel comfortable and attended to
  • Actively contributes to the growth of the contact lens segment
  • Tends to employees to create a good working environment
